Good Causes - The Chrysalis

Chrysalis Youth Empowerment Network is a secondary school in Northern Uganda with a strong focus on female empowerment. 

Since we already supported other women-empowering organisations, we decided that the Chrysalis would be perfect for this: when we sell any of our International Women's Day (IWD) minifigs, we donate a portion of the money we to help young people, primarily in Uganda. The Chrysalis supports them by training them as social entrepreneurs, leaders, and community changemakers.

Here is Jacob, working with the STEM LEGO sets we sent to them. 

We're committed to ongoing support for the school so they can plan for the future. This includes a £90 monthly donation and paying the school fees for two students.

In 2023 and 2024, we also decided to do something a bit different for Black Friday. Instead of doing sales and discounts, we increased our donations to the school. We looked at sales of IWD minifigs during the week and gave 100% of those sales to the school. (We also rounded the total up a little bit). This meant we were able to give an extra £350 GBP to the school both years.
